Areas Treated With Rejuvenation

Possible Laser skin rejuvenation side effects may vary between the areas treated and the type of skin blemish targeted. The types of skin blemishes which can be made less visible with rejuvenation, if not to altogether vanish, are:
* fine lines around the eyes (or beneath them), wrinkles on the forehead or around the mouth.
* scars in general and facial acne scars in particular.
* sun damages.
* birthmarks (such as epidermal nevi or linear).
* enlarged pores (mainly on and around the nose).
* liver spots (which tend to appear with old age).
* Yellowish or grayish skin tones (also typical to aging skin).
* Rejuvenating non-responsive skin which is the result of a facelift.
* Skin lesions which are caused by rosacea, over pigmentation (which may be the result of over exposure to the sun), vascular lesions and more.

How Laser Rejuvenation Works

Laser skin rejuvenation is a type of photo-rejuvenation treatment, non-invasive skin treatments where some type of light is projected onto the area of skin treated. Other photo-rejuvenation treatments are IPL (Intense Pulse Light and IR (Infra Red).
Basically, laser skin rejuvenation is done by projecting a laser light onto the skin blemishes treated. The energy delivered causes the problematic cells to heat up and break down into substances which can then be absorbed and discarded via the blood stream. The blemishes treated are mostly found on the skin's surface, the "dermis", but the laser energy also heats up sub skin tissues (the "epidermis"), this causes increased collagen production which does wonders towards improving overall skin complexion.
The accuracy of laser enables physicians to direct beams very precisely . Different chromophores (the part of a molecule responsible for its color) are targeted when treating different types of skin lesions, for example hemoglobin chromosphoes are targeted when eliminating vascular lesions while melanin chrosphores are targeted when treating pigmented lesions.
